Nov. 25th Autocross...

Mazuda 6...2nd Place - Only 4/100 out of 1st.

Bimmer Wagon...3rd Place - and loosing ground fast...

Last Sunday, my brother and his 6 finally caught up to me...

After getting beat up by the Celica for a couple of events, my brother joined in on the fun and beat up on me by a good 7/10ths of a second, and just loosing out to the 1st place Celica by less than 4/100ths of a second!!!

My driving was NOT so good with a DNF on the first run, taking a short cut, and still 2/10ths SLOWER than my brother's time. After finally figuring out where I DNF'd, I got a little better each run, but only could get to 7/10ths on my brother's best time. Gotta be doing a better job of looking ahead...as I've been tending to get "lost" on the second part of the course during the last couple of events...

My brother's driving has improved a LOT as I was my usual 1/2 second or so behind the Celica, but my brother's time was about 1 second faster than where he had placed at the last event.

STS Results (SCCA HAWAII 11/25/2007)
Cory Toyota Celica 34.917
Gregg Mazda 6-Wagon 34.956
Steven BMW 325it 35.660
Aaron Lexus IS300 35.815
Ross Toyota Corolla 37.904
Jason Honda Prelude 38.618
Ryan Lexus IS300 38.931
Malcolm Toyota Corolla 40.513

It's back to the drawing board for the next event...drawing out the course on papaer...and probably reading some of my driving books again...

Week Of Running...And A Short Trip to Japan...

Didn't bike at all on the week days due to the super short days...

Tuesday I ran my 3.35mi loop in about 31:50 = 9:30 / mile...felt not real good but really pushed all the way...

Wednesday = 29:25 = 8:47 / mile...felt real good and ran smooth and fast, not really pushing as hard as yesterday...although...by my old standards...8:47 is NOT so fast...

Thursday = 34:00 = 10:08 / mile...felt tired and just cruised it...

Today, because of all the rain, I didn't do any riding...so instead, I took a trip to JAPAN!!! It was pretty short at only 56 min, 36 sec...ran smooth and medium fast, and felt good all the way. Ran in the kind of soothing misty rain that actually makes running feel nice for some reason...

For the first time, with my Ipod ONLY playing J-music all the way (usually, I play mixed)...I found this beautiful song...

Hana by Kosuke Atari...

For me, it was one of those songs that I connected with instantly...my kind of music. Fittingly so, this song was popular on the オリコン (Oricon) earlier this year in Japan...

Running Today...

Today I ran medium fast and felt REALLY REALLY good the whole way...lots of gas in the tank with lots to spare...

While running, I heard one of my all time favorite disco songs and I really had an awesome rush while running to it...

This song by A Taste Of Honey is from the late '70s and just really grooves...and it also has one of the BEST guitar solos in the middle. I just love love LOVE!!! that synthesized guitar, and I wasn't sure whether it was actually a synthesizer OR a guitar. Only after I saw this video did I realize that the bass AND the guitar were being PLAYED by chicks!!! Holy cr@p!!! Not politically correct, but unreal too...you don't hardly see anyone playing their own instruments nowadays...

Boogie Oogie Oogie

Now that is My Kind of Music...better than taking drugs...

Deep Fried Crunchy Goodness...

On every trip to Japan I always end up wanting to eat all the different kinds of katsu and/or croquettes and/or tempura they have there. So on my way back from the Government Building in Shinjuku, I wondered around the train station shops trying to find the best looking one's I could find...pretty hard cause they have many many types (e.g., ebi, ika, imo, pork, kabocha, fish, hamburger, and anykine) and they all look so good...

As I had just eaten at very late lunch at a sushiya in Shinjuku, I bought these two pieces for a dinner snack. I bought stuff that I've never had before...one was a fancy sort of Hokkaido milk and mashed potato katsu, and the other was a hamburger type katsu...mmmmm...

But it wasn't the ultimate in...mmmmm...cause it was all cold already...these must be awesome when HOT...next time...

Lookin Up...

Walking back to my hotel I snapped this pic looking up at the 60 story Sunshine60 building with my hotel on the left.
