After doing the same exact 3h 39m the last couple of years at Cycle to the Sun, I decided to try something new this year...EATING MORE http://www.slipstreamsports.com/2008/07/16/the-feed-zone-vande-velde-the-eating-machine.
Usually, after about 2:30 or so, I start to slow down drastically, so, hopefully this year, it will be different.:
From 2006:
0:00 - 1:00 - 216 watts warming up
1:00 - 2:00 - 222 watts riding good!
2:00 - 2:30 - 205 watts started slowing down
2:30 - 3:00 - 184 watts really slowing down
3:00 - 3:39 - 172 watts OMG!
My last couple of long rides I've been eating like mad, finishing decently strong, with this past Sunday being the most I ever ate in 3:48 and 88kms. Really good too, cause now I only need water - no energy drink required! If it works in the tour...hopefully it works this coming Sunday...
